The Power of Making at the V&A - The Telegraph This autumn, one of my creations - the baby cake will be exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London among other artists in a contemporary art collaboration called "The Power of Making".  The V&A and Crafts Council celebrate the role of making in our lives by presenting an eclectic selection of over 100 exquisitely crafted objects, ranging from a life-size crochet bear to a ceramic eye patch, a fine metal flute to dry stone walling. Power of Making is a cabinet of curiosities showing works by both amateurs and leading makers from around the world to present a snapshot of making in our time. Peacock Wedding Cake

Image
Today, at Michelle Sugar Art, we unveil a creation that embodies both elegance and whimsy: a wedding cake shaped like a majestic peacock perched atop a Greek column. Each individual feather is meticulously hand-painted, capturing the peacock's renowned iridescence and array of vibrant colors. But the artistry doesn't stop there. A final touch of airbrushing is employed, further enhancing the brightness and tropical feel of the peacock's majestic display. This cake is more than just a dessert; it's a conversation starter, a work of art, and a symbol of the love story unfolding on the wedding day. The peacock, with its vibrant colors and symbolic connection to renewal and joy, becomes a unique and unforgettable representation of the couple's embarking journey. As you admire the intricate details and vibrant colors, remember, at Michelle Sugar Art , we believe that every cake tells a story. And this one, is a story of elegance, whimsy, and love.
