Celebrating World Sushi Day 2024: Michelle and Yutaka Unveil Edible Portrait Sculptures of British Celebrities

  Michelle is applying finishing touch to her sushi's creation (Photo credit: Simon Jacobs/PinPep) To celebrate World Sushi Day 2024, Michelle, in collaboration with Yutaka, has unveiled a stunning collection of edible portrait sculptures of British celebrities and TV personalities, all made from sushi ingredients. She dedicated approximately 120 hours to sculpt these portraits using sushi rice, konbu, seaweed, roe, and soy sauce for colouring. Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary cake

 Emmerdale, one of the long-running British soap operas, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this October with a dramatic teaser trailer incorporating the latest in 3D printing technology, motion-control camera shots and a real cake by Michelle of Michelle Sugar Art. The brief from the art director was to create an edible miniature set of the drama series including the famous Woolpack pub, the woods and many iconic scenes. This giant set was sculpted out of slabs of vanilla sponge cake covered with fondant and then applied colour. To really capture the scene Michelle's got pretty creative by using chocolate flakes for the trees, rice crispies cereals to create texture, and shredded wheat to replicate a stack of hay bales. BAFTA 75th Anniversary Cake

  Huge Hogwarts cake unveiled at Warner Bros. Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone film on 16th November 2021 6 feet wide, 5 feet tall and 100 kg scale model of Hogwarts castle was created by world renowned cake artist Michelle Wibowo of Michelle Sugar Art Cake was donated to One Vision , a local Watford charity fighting food poverty. A spectacular cake depicting Hogwarts Castle has been created by artist and cake sculptor Michelle Wibowo, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone releasing in cinemas. HMS Belfast Cake

  Celebrating the reopening HMS Belfast in London today, Michelle Wibowo from  Michelle Sugar Art created 4 foot long replica of the famous ship that has moored near Tower Bridge London for 50 Years. The nine-deck Town-class light cruiser was built in the Northern Irish capital in 1936 and launched two years later. Belfast played a major role in the Second World War, initially as part of the British naval blockade against Germany. Michelle is delivering HMS Belfast cake, can you spot the actual HMS Belfast in the background ?

Home Alone Gingerbread House to mark film's 30th Anniversary for Disney+

  Michelle recreated the McCallister family house from Home Alone in gingerbread to celebrate the film's 30th anniversary this year. The gingerbread house was commissioned by Disney + to mark 30 years since the release of the classic Christmas film. Michelle is constructing Home Alone gingerbread house It took Michelle around 300 hours to make in her studio in West Sussex and complete with tiny details from the movies. The creation includes 63 trees, 33 windows, 14 pizza boxes and six lampposts. The stairs was made out of gingerbread covered with snow icing. Meticulous detail of  the door handle was recreated using icing sugar Kevin  McCallister fell from the sledge and stuck in the snow. A life-sized cake of Colin Firth as Mr Darcy from Pride and Prejudice.

  A life-sized cake of Mr Darcy Character from BBC’s Pride and Prejudice played by Colin Firth, has been unveiled to celebrate the launch of Jane Austen Season on UKTV Drama Channel. This 6ft tall creation was on display at National Trust property Lyme Park in Cheshire which was used as Mr Darcy's home Pemberley in the mini-series and where the famous lake scene was filmed. It's made out of vanilla sponge cake with vanilla buttercream filling and chocolate ganache. Michelle uses 25kg of flour, 25kg of butter and 45 kg of sugar and took more than 200 hours to make.  Have your cake (and eat it too) Mr. Darcy ? Game Of Thrones Life-size Cakes

To celebrate the return of the most anticipated TV series finale this year, Stork baking spread – the ultimate ingredient of great bakers since 1920 – has commissioned food artist, Michelle Wibowo , to pay homage to this pop culture moment and create a bake inspired by the show. The cakes was on-display overlooking the iconic London Tower Bridge  This morning, the ‘Stork’ family line-up was unveiled in the country’s capital, overlooking the iconic Tower Bridge. Made from fluffy sponge – thanks to Stork, each life-size sculpture took an eye-watering 300 hours to make. 3 lifesize cake from the character of Game of Thrones, Jon Snow, Sansa Stark and Arya Stark The largest statue comes in at a mammoth 173cm tall and weighs in at 70kg kg – the equivalent to TEN TYRES. Heathrow Airport out of Gingerbread

Celebrating Christmas this year Heathrow Airpot, the Europe's largest airport  has commissioned Michelle Wibowo to create 5 meters long and 2.5 meters wide massive gingerbread installation at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. It took Michelle 200 hours to make and weighs around 50kgs! The gingerbread airport features Heathrow’s four terminals, the runways and the control tower as well as the much loved stars of Heathrow's Christmas advert, Doris and Edward Bair. Heathrow discovered that one in four Brits (25%) believe that the smell of gingerbread is the main scent that reminds them of the festive season The gingerbread airport is in Heathrow Terminal 5 on Thursday 13 December. Infographic Cake London Gatwick Airport 60th Anniversary

Gatwick Airport is the world's busiest single runway airport as well as the first airport in the world to combine air, road and train travel in a single unit. These are just some of the many impressive statistics for Gatwick Airport and the concept is to show these in the cake! Michelle started by carving layered of vanilla sponge cakes sandwiched with generous buttercream and covered with sugar paste for the main airport tower. She also made the arches for the North and South Terminal as well as the iconic bridge. She also designed and printed the impressive InfoGraphic into edible icing which then later used to cover the sponge cake. To top it off she also installed LED strips showing messages to congratulate Gatwick's 60th Anniversary.
