Celebrating World Sushi Day 2024: Michelle and Yutaka Unveil Edible Portrait Sculptures of British Celebrities

  Michelle is applying finishing touch to her sushi's creation (Photo credit: Simon Jacobs/PinPep) To celebrate World Sushi Day 2024, Michelle, in collaboration with Yutaka, has unveiled a stunning collection of edible portrait sculptures of British celebrities and TV personalities, all made from sushi ingredients. She dedicated approximately 120 hours to sculpt these portraits using sushi rice, konbu, seaweed, roe, and soy sauce for colouring. Her impressive creations include: (excuse the pun): Singer-songwriters: Eelton John and Edamame Sheeran Footballers: Bukayo Saké and Herring Kane This Morning hosts: Alison Salmond and Dermot Roe’Leary British TV host Lorraine Kelpy, made from dash konbu and fukujinzuke Academy Awards winner actor: Benedict Cucumberbatch These remarkable artworks were exhibited in a London gallery as part of the #SushiMe campaign by Yutaka - one of the leading brands of Japanese food ingredients in the UK, inviting Brits to get creative with their food...

Game Of Thrones Life-size Cakes

To celebrate the return of the most anticipated TV series finale this year, Stork baking spread – the ultimate ingredient of great bakers since 1920 – has commissioned food artist, Michelle Wibowo , to pay homage to this pop culture moment and create a bake inspired by the show. The cakes was on-display overlooking the iconic London Tower Bridge  This morning, the ‘Stork’ family line-up was unveiled in the country’s capital, overlooking the iconic Tower Bridge. Made from fluffy sponge – thanks to Stork, each life-size sculpture took an eye-watering 300 hours to make. 3 lifesize cake from the character of Game of Thrones, Jon Snow, Sansa Stark and Arya Stark The largest statue comes in at a mammoth 173cm tall and weighs in at 70kg kg – the equivalent to TEN TYRES. Heathrow Airport out of Gingerbread

Celebrating Christmas this year Heathrow Airpot, the Europe's largest airport  has commissioned Michelle Wibowo to create 5 meters long and 2.5 meters wide massive gingerbread installation at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. It took Michelle 200 hours to make and weighs around 50kgs! The gingerbread airport features Heathrow’s four terminals, the runways and the control tower as well as the much loved stars of Heathrow's Christmas advert, Doris and Edward Bair. Heathrow discovered that one in four Brits (25%) believe that the smell of gingerbread is the main scent that reminds them of the festive season The gingerbread airport is in Heathrow Terminal 5 on Thursday 13 December. Giant sculpture of Roald Dahl's BFG (Big Friendly Giant) made out of Mr Kipling's Cakes

Working in collaboration with Mr Kipling's brand, Michelle Wibowo of Michelle Sugar Art reveals the 3 meter tall (sitting down) or about 7 m tall when standing up a life-size giant sculpture of Big Friendly Giant (BFG) from one of the famous Roald Dahl's Children storybook. The sculpture was covered with around 7500 individual Mr Kipling's cakes from 7 variety, the skin was made using Viennese Whirls, his trousers and top half are made from different types of Angel Slices, plus a few Bakewell tarts around the shirts. Alzheimer's Society Big Ben Cupcakes celebrating cupcake day

Alzheimer’s Society is launching the UK’s first ever Cupcake Day on 16th June. Cupcake Day is a fundraising event where supporters are able to bake or buy cupcakes and sell them in aid of people with dementia. Celebrating the first ever cupcake day, Michelle from Michelle Sugar Ar t created the most iconic London's landmark: Big Ben in front of the parliament square made out of 240 individual cupcake design. Transformation from Van Gogh's original painting - Pencil Sketch - Brightly-coloured version of Jelly Belly Painting Michelle Sugar Art was commissioned to recreate 4-meter length Van Gogh's Portrait of Dr. Gatchet, one of the most expensive paintings in the world. 100,000 brightly coloured Jelly Belly Beans were used to inject 'sweet happiness' to the originally melancholic painting. 8 feet tall Giant Bunny Cake for Lisa's 50th Birthday Party by Michelle Sugar Art The Troxy, ex-bingo hall in East London has been transformed overnight to host 1000 guests for Lisa Tchenguiz's 50th Birthday. It was no ordinary party by any means and Michelle has been commissioned to create a pink giant bunny cake made for the party’s centerpiece. It took Michelle 100 hours to carve, sculpt and cover the cake with 40 kg pink and white fondant. The cake weights more than 250 kg, 6 men to carry them and lift up the stage.
