St Bride's Church Cake

St Bride's Church Cake

Celebrating London Festival of Architecture 2012, John Robertson Architects commissioned Michelle Sugar Art to create a gigantic cake based on scale model of St Bride’s Church in Fleet Street London.

The model and an accompanying exhibition of the history of St Bride's Church, will support the INSPIRE! Appeal - launched in March 2012 to fund the urgent repair and restoration of St Bride's tiered spire, said to have been the inspiration for the design of modern wedding cake.

It took Michelle nearly 70 hours, lot’s of sugar paste and icing sugar to complete this gigantic piece of cake measuring 5 feet tall.
