Giant Trainer Shoe Cake for Sussex Living Marathon Run

5 Foot Giant Trainer Shoe Cake

Today, I'm thrilled to share with you a project that combines my passion for sugar art with the dedication and energy of the Sussex Living Marathon Run participants.

As you might have heard, a five-foot giant trainer shaped cake was recently unveiled at The Martlet Shopping Centre in Burgess Hill. This creation served not only as a centrepiece for the marathon run weekend but also as a delicious treat for all participants! Witnessing the smiles and excitement as runners savored a slice after completing their challenge was truly rewarding.

Cutting the cake

This impressive cake took 50 hours of meticulous work to bring to life. Crafting the intricate details of the trainer required dedication and precision, while ensuring the cake remained delectable. It consumed over 25 kg of fondant and 9 kg of buttercream, a testament to the sheer scale and effort poured into this project.

More than just a cake, this giant trainer symbolised the triumph and determination of all the runners who participated in the Sussex Living Marathon. It was a sweet reminder of the hard work, dedication, and perseverance they displayed on the race day.

I hope this project not only fueled runners after their accomplishment but also brought a touch of joy and artistic inspiration to the entire event.

Congratulations once again to all the Sussex Living Marathon participants!
